How PassReadyPro Compares to Kaplan, ExamFX, A.D. Banker, and WebCE

September 29, 2026 · PassReadyPro Team

Search "insurance license exam prep" and the options blur together fast — similar homepages, similar promises, prices that only appear after you pick a state and a license line. We pulled current pricing and policy pages for four of the most established names in the industry — Kaplan Financial Education, ExamFX, A.D. Banker & Company, and WebCE — so you can see how they actually stack up against each other and against us, on the things that matter: what you pay, how long you can use it, what "guarantee" actually means at each one, and whether a real person is ever part of the deal.

Quick answer: PassReadyPro is a flat $89–$99 per license line with everything included at that one price — lifetime access, a full-refund Pass Guarantee, and a free 1-on-1 Coach Call. Every other major provider we reviewed sells in tiers, where the guarantee, live instruction, or flashcards are often locked behind a more expensive package, and every one of them expires your access somewhere between 60 days and about 6 months. None of the four publicly advertises real one-on-one coaching — the closest anyone gets is a scheduled group class or async email support.

Pricing and policies below reflect what each company published on its own site (or, where noted, the most reliable third-party source we could find) as of late September 2026. Prices and terms change — always confirm current numbers directly with a provider before you buy.

Kaplan Financial Education

Kaplan is one of the two longest-running names in this industry, with roots going back to 1970s-era licensing-education companies. Its course is sold in ascending tiers — Basic, Essential, EssentialPlus, and Career Launcher — with third-party reviews putting the range around $125 to $314 depending on tier and state; Kaplan doesn't publish flat pricing on its own site until you select a state and license line through an interactive tool, so treat that range as approximate and confirm directly. Every tier includes "InstructorLink," an asynchronous messaging tool for content questions, answered within about two business days — useful, but not real-time and not 1-on-1 coaching. Live, instructor-led classes are only available on the top two tiers, and those are group sessions. The Kaplan Commitment guarantee requires scoring 80%+ on their internal Mastery Exam, sitting the state exam within 3 business days of that, and submitting a failed score report within 14 days — miss any of those windows and you're not covered.

ExamFX

ExamFX is the other long-standing incumbent, in business since 1996 and now part of Ascend Learning. Its pricing is the most transparent of the four we reviewed — $169.95 for Self-Study, $219.95 for Video Study, and $299.95 for Live Online, all with 60 days of access. Every tier includes exam simulations and a "Readiness Exam"; video and flashcards are reserved for the two more expensive tiers. Their Pass Guarantee requires scoring 80%+ on the Readiness Exam and sitting your state exam within three days of that score — reasonably similar in structure to Kaplan's. The Live Online tier's "live" component is a scheduled group webinar, not individual instruction.

A.D. Banker & Company

A.D. Banker is a smaller, insurance-specific specialist (rather than a broader financial-education brand) with a Silver/Gold/Platinum tier structure. We weren't able to load pricing directly from adbanker.com, so the figures here — roughly $130 to $276 depending on tier, per a third-party review — should be confirmed directly before you rely on them. One notable difference: some tiers reportedly offer access for up to six months, longer than most competitors' windows. Their "Guarantee to Pass" policy reimburses material costs (not necessarily your full purchase price) if you score 80%+ on a separate Guarantee Exam within 3 days of your state exam and still fail. As with the others, live instruction is a group "Web Class" format, and we found no 1-on-1 tutoring offered at any tier.

WebCE

WebCE is a large multi-line licensing and continuing-education provider that also sells pre-licensing packages state by state. For Texas Property & Casualty, its Standard package runs $109.95 and its Exam Prep Plus package (which adds video) is $159.95, both with 90 days of access — extendable once for $50. WebCE's exam-prep add-ons (an "Exam Tutor" simulator and "Flash Tutor" flashcards) are sold à la carte on the lower tier rather than bundled in. Its guarantee reimburses prorated material fees rather than your full purchase price, and comes with a tighter completion window — you generally need to finish within 25 days of starting. We found no live class format or 1-on-1 support advertised for its pre-licensing product.

Where PassReadyPro fits

Line up the four providers above and a pattern shows up immediately: every one of them gates something behind a higher tier. Want the guarantee, live instruction, or flashcards? That's usually the second- or third-most-expensive package, not the cheapest one. PassReadyPro doesn't have tiers — the $89–$99 flat price already includes the Pass Guarantee, unlimited practice exams, and a Coach Call, the same for every buyer.

The access window is the other clear gap. Every competitor above expires your access somewhere between 60 days and roughly six months, sometimes with a paid extension fee if you run out of time. PassReadyPro courses never expire — you keep lifetime access at no extra cost, whether you finish in five days or five months.

On guarantees specifically, read the fine print carefully wherever you're shopping: some of these refund your full purchase price, others only reimburse "material costs," which can be a meaningfully smaller number. PassReadyPro's Pass Guarantee refunds the full price of your course.

And on human support: none of the four companies above publicly advertises individual, one-on-one coaching, even as a paid add-on — what exists is either a scheduled group class, a recorded webinar, or asynchronous messaging. That's not a claim that no one on their team could ever get on a call with you; it's simply what's publicly marketed. A free, real 1-on-1 phone call with a licensed Insurance Expert is something we couldn't find an equivalent to anywhere else we looked.

Other providers worth knowing about

Two other names come up often enough to mention briefly. XCEL Solutions sells Standard and Premier tiers (around $199–$299 for an Oklahoma Property & Casualty course), with its "Prepared to Pass Promise" guarantee available only on the Premier tier; its "live" review sessions are pre-recorded, and its support is an AI chatbot rather than a human. Aceable Insurance, better known for real-estate exam prep, has expanded into all three states PassReadyPro serves, with promotional pricing that moves around often enough that we'd recommend checking its site directly rather than relying on a number here.

What to actually compare before you buy

  • Is the guarantee a refund of your full purchase price, or just "material costs"?
  • Does your access expire, and is there a fee to extend it if you need more time?
  • Is a real person included in the price, or does meaningful support require the most expensive tier?
  • What's the actual out-the-door price once you add the pieces you'd actually want — flashcards, live review, an extension?

Putting it together

Sticker price alone doesn't tell you much when four different companies sell four different bundles of features across three or four tiers each. Once you line up access length, what the guarantee actually pays out, and whether real human help is included or an upsell, the comparison gets a lot clearer — and it's the comparison worth making before you hand over a card number.

Frequently asked questions

Is PassReadyPro actually cheaper than Kaplan, ExamFX, A.D. Banker, or WebCE?+

It depends on which tier you'd compare against, since all four sell in tiers rather than one flat price. PassReadyPro's single $89–$99 price already includes the guarantee, unlimited practice exams, and a Coach Call — features that are often reserved for the more expensive tiers elsewhere. Prices change, so confirm current numbers directly with each provider before deciding.

Do other providers offer a pass guarantee too?+

Most of the ones we reviewed do, but the terms vary a lot — some refund your full course price, others only reimburse study-material costs, and each has its own score threshold and time window for claiming it. Read the fine print on whichever provider you're considering.

Does PassReadyPro's access ever expire like the competitors listed here?+

No. Every PassReadyPro course includes lifetime access as standard — there's no 60-90 day window and no extension fee to worry about.

Is real 1-on-1 tutoring available anywhere else in the industry?+

Among the providers we reviewed, we didn't find any publicly advertising individual, one-on-one coaching — the closest equivalents were scheduled group classes or asynchronous messaging. A company could still offer it without marketing it prominently, so this isn't an absolute claim about the entire industry.

How was this comparison put together?+

From each company's own pricing and policy pages where we could load them directly, and from independent review sites where a company's own site didn't expose pricing without selecting a state first. Pricing and policies change — always verify current numbers on the provider's own site before making a decision.
